Small Manufacturing & Distribution Company - Great opportunity to grow with the company On‑Site Position – Avon Lake, Ohio Salary: $80k-$90k based on experience Position Summary We are seeking an experienced (5 years), hands-on Controller to oversee the financial operations of our growing manufacturing and distribution business. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring strong internal controls, and providing timely financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making. The Controller will directly manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable staff and work closely with ownership and operations leadership. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and reconciliations Supervise and support A/R and A/P personnel, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulations Coordinate annual review/audit and support tax preparation with external CPA Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures Partner with operations to support inventory accounting, costing, and margin analysis Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Support ERP system usage and improvements (Microsoft Dynamics experience a plus) Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required) 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing and/or distribution Strong understanding of inventory accounting and cost accounting Experience supervising accounting staff Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel Microsoft Dynamics experience is a plus CPA or CMA a plus, but not required Skills & Attributes Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality Strong organizational and time-management abilities Clear communicator with the ability to work across departments High level of integrity and professionalism Work Environment On-site position at company headquarters Collaborative, small-company environment with direct access to leadership Compensation & Benefits Total Compensation: Negotiable based on experience $80k-$90k base  Health Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision coverage Life Insurance Retirement: 401(k) with company match Profit Sharing Program Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, holidays, and personal time On-Site Role: Stable, long-term opportunity in a growing organization
