Role Title: UX Design Team Leader Description: This role aligns to UX Design Manager. Location: Hoboken (Hybrid) The Role Join us as a visionary UX Design Team Leader, where you will have a crucial impact on shaping agentic learning experiences in higher education. We seek an inspiring leader who combines strategic vision with hands-on execution. You will guide a talented team of UX designers to create innovative solutions that enhance the learning experience for students and educators alike. In this pivotal position, you will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Research teams to turn bold ideas into dynamic, personalized learning solutions. You will lead multiple workstreams within a complex product area, mentor designers through coaching and feedback, and ensure that the team's focus aligns with high-impact work. What You'll Own As the UX Design Team Leader, you will be accountable for strategic leadership and successful delivery across several workstreams. You will cultivate a team of designers while ensuring that UX work is well-prioritized, of high quality, and tightly aligned with product strategy. By closely partnering with Product and Engineering leadership, you'll effectively translate vision into action, eliminate obstacles, and create an environment where designers can thrive. Lead and nurture a team of UX designers through coaching, feedback, and career development. Oversee UX delivery in a product area, ensuring quality, consistency, and predictability. Prioritize and sequence work to achieve both short-term execution and long-term experience goals. Collaborate closely with product and engineering to align roadmaps, priorities, and success metrics. Facilitate design planning, critique, and review rituals that foster clarity and progress. Remove barriers by resolving ambiguity, clarifying scope, and managing trade-offs. Promote design standards, accessibility, and adoption of the design system. About You You are an experienced UX leader, passionate about mentoring others while delivering outstanding products. You approach complex challenges with sound judgment and calm clarity, and you find energy in helping teams excel in their work. You bring: 7-10+ years of professional experience in UX design, including over 3 years in leadership roles. Experience designing products that integrate agentic AI and using AI prototyping tools to enhance workflows. Strong expertise in end-to-end UX design across multifaceted, multi-surface products. Demonstrated ability to manage priorities across multiple workstreams and stakeholders. Confidence in decision-making amid uncertainty and clear communication of trade-offs. A collaborative leadership style that builds trust among product, engineering, and design teams. Flexibility to switch between hands-on design guidance and strategic planning as necessary. Compensation at Pearson is influenced by various factors, including skills, experience, and location. As mandated by laws in several states, the pay range for this position is between $150,000 and $175,000.
