Pay and Schedule Touring Driver Compensation: Starting on tour at $1,800/week, with potential to earn up to $2,500/week as responsibilities increase. Regional freight pay between tours averaging $1,475/week (mileage-based). Note: All drivers start in our regional division for the first 30 days (mileage-based pay). Transition to touring assignments and salary-based pay occurs after approval. Touring Driver Schedule: Season: March-October. Tours typically run for weeks; limited home time unless routes are nearby. Off-Season: November-February. Drivers run regional, no-touch freight to maintain steady income. Your Responsibilities: Transport staging, lighting, and production equipment for major live events. Assist with loading/unloading and secure equipment using straps and load bars. Safely maneuver into tight or unconventional venue locations. Drive predominantly at night to adhere to strict delivery schedules. Driver Highlights: Overnight driving is standard to meet event deadlines. Complete full tours or production runs once assigned. Routes extend throughout the U.S. and Canada (passport required; Averitt will reimburse if needed). CDL-A Truck Driver Requirements: Must have at least 30 days of driving experience with Averitt before considering a position in Production and Event operations. 21 years of age or older. Class A CDL with a willingness to obtain a Hazmat endorsement. Flatbed certification is necessary (training offered). Valid passport for Canada tours (Averitt reimburses if needed). 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years. Entertainment or touring driving experience preferred but not required. No reckless driving convictions in the past 5 years. No DUI or DWI convictions in the past 5 years. No suspensions or revocations for moving violations in the past 5 years. No serious violations in the previous 12 months (including but not limited to driving 15 mph over speed limit, following too closely, and more). No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years. No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years. Essential Functions: Drive safely and efficiently. Open/close trailer door (force requirement: 46 lbs). Count and check freight. Complete fuel tickets accurately. Hook/unhook trailer (force requirement: 90 lbs). Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections. Ability to travel extensively and sit upright for long periods. Move freight as required (force requirement: 54 lbs). Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Enter/exit a Commercial Motor Vehicle safely. Access the rear of a trailer from ground level.
