Job Purpose: - The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Shift 3 at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing high-quality care and support to patients during the overnight shift. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient conditions, and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. Key Responsibilities: - Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. - Monitor and document patient vital signs, behavior, and overall condition, reporting any changes to the nursing staff. - Support the nursing team in implementing patient care plans and interventions. - Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, including changing linens and ensuring hygiene standards are met. - Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, promoting a positive and therapeutic atmosphere. - Assist in the transportation of patients within the facility as needed. - Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and regulations, maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy. - Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated with best practices in patient care. Required Education: - High school diploma or equivalent. - Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is mandatory. Required Experience: - Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a CNA in a healthcare or behavioral health setting. - Experience in providing care to individuals with mental health or behavioral conditions is preferred. - Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is an advantage. Required Skills and Abilities: - Strong ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. - Demonstrated skills in providing compassionate and patient-centered care. - Ability to handle stressful situations and respond calmly in emergencies. - Proficient in basic patient care techniques, including bathing, dressing, and feeding. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team, especially during overnight shifts. - Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting and transferring patients.
