Sewer Plant Maintenance Tech

POSITION SUMMARY Under direct supervision, performs repair and maintenance of all plant equipment and vehicles; maintains all tools and equipment; assists with inspections; maintains accurate inspection records; reports problems to supervisor. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assists in the maintenance of pumps and equipment associated with the wastewater treatment plant, checks equipment on a regularly scheduled basis to insure proper operating condition and preventative maintenance on all plant equipment; Maintains all tools and equipment in good working order; Assists plant operations as needed to ensure proper plant operations; Assists with rebuilding equipment; Assists with preventative maintenance on all plant equipment; Reports all problems to supervisor; Assists other departments and/or agencies as directed; Assists contractors working on sewer projects as directed; Operate Vacuum Truck and Dump Truck Other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES Work is thorough, timely and reflects follow-through to completion. Complies with departmental performance standards. Demonstrates willingness to undertake duties as assigned. Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing.
