Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing compassionate and expert care in surgical orthopedics. This part-time role offers the opportunity to deliver direct patient care while supporting a collaborative and patient-focused environment. General Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers hands-on patient care by applying the nursing process with clinical expertise tailored to surgical orthopedic practice. Adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics is essential. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to ensure a secure care environment. Maintain and care for central lines and implement measures to prevent surgical site infections according to policy. Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide education to patients and families to promote health outcomes. Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and support clinical decision-making. Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring data to comply with standards and facilitate team communication. Effectively communicate patient information to physicians and healthcare team members to improve outcomes. Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability. Engage with patients and families promptly to enhance their experience and provide necessary education. Apply critical thinking in nursing practice and pursue continuing education to develop skills. Education Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required. Experience At least one year of nursing experience is preferred. Requirements Current RN license valid in the state or Compact Licensure. Graduate nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Mental and Physical Demands This role requires significant mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs., standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and reaching. Working Conditions Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is expected. Occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
