Mechanical Cost Estimator

In this role, you will play a vital part in evaluating the costs associated with mechanical systems for upcoming projects. You'll assess the required schedule, materials, and labor to ensure every job is completed successfully. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the mechanical bid process, including general conditions, HVAC, process piping and ducting, millwrighting, and structural steel. Conduct cost comparisons and analyses. Build and maintain relationships with reliable trade contractors, vendors, and suppliers. Accurately estimate costs for all mechanical plans, including detailed quantity take-offs. Create schedules and determine task durations. Embrace new construction methods and market trends. Establish and monitor budgets for all construction phases. Identify and suggest cost-saving techniques, materials, and procedures. Monitor and evaluate plan changes. Provide estimates for all changes. Manage subcontractor solicitations as necessary. Draft comprehensive subcontractor scopes of work. Interpret and understand contract drawings and specifications. Utilize knowledge of industry competitive advantages to enhance the bidding process. Assist in creating submittals and coordinate with project managers during the pre-construction phase. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction preferred. Willingness to travel to job sites as needed. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends if required. Proficient in reading blueprints and plans.
