Job Summary The Senior Manager of Estimating Operations is a critical role that oversees estimating processes, ensuring precision in capacity planning, optimizing workflows, and fostering continuous skill development. This position collaborates extensively with regional and national teams to manage workloads efficiently, pinpoint training requirements, and utilize data analytics for informed strategic decisions. Key Responsibilities Capacity & Workflow Management Collaborate with regional teams to evaluate estimating requirements and available capacity. Oversee workflow across regions, assuring that workloads are balanced to meet project timelines. Training & Development Assess skill gaps and training needs among regional and national estimating teams. Create and propose educational programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of estimators. Data Review & Resource Allocation Analyze data using Power BI to distribute work equitably and identify resource needs. Offer insights to leadership for resource optimization and effective capacity planning. Collaboration & Communication Act as a key liaison between regional teams and leadership to ensure alignment in objectives and priorities. Effectively communicate updates, best practices, and performance metrics across all regions. Nature and Scope Central point of coordination for regional estimating teams, ensuring uniformity across all operations. Influence strategic decisions related to resource allocation, capacity planning, and process enhancements. Work closely with senior leadership and regional teams to align estimating strategies with the company’s mission. Preferred Qualifications Experience in estimating and budgeting projections. Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in complex waterworks projects. Understanding of business and management principles. Qualifications and Experience A Bachelor's degree in a related field is typically required. 7+ years of relevant experience is generally expected. Certifications may be required. An advanced degree may substitute for some experience in select disciplines. Problem Complexity Solutions will require thorough analysis and investigation. Environmental Job Requirements Work is performed in a comfortable indoor environment with occasional unpleasant conditions, if any. Travel may be required, but is expected to be less than 10% of the time. Most work is done seated comfortably, with the occasional need to lift or move light materials.
