Licensed Practical Nurse (SNF)

Job Summary As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our residents. You will carry out instructions from the Director of Wellness, ensuring the highest quality of nursing care by supervising and monitoring nursing staff. You will be accountable to the Director of Wellness/Executive Director for all activities within the nursing department, aligning with our commitment to quality care. Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise Home Health Aides (HHAs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and facility staff Conduct daily rounds of all Assisted Living and retirement residents Observe and report symptoms and conditions of patients to the Director of Wellness, Delegating R.N., or Physician Administer medications and treatments based on signed doctor’s orders accurately and safely Ensure that supplies and equipment are available, informing the Director of Wellness when necessary Order medications from the pharmacy as required Oversee the Home Health Aide to confirm nursing care is delivered properly and safely Provide emergency first aid as required Ensure that daily assignments for patient care and other duties are completed by nursing staff and HHAs Perform daily assessments and recognize, interpret, and report conditions as needed Maintain cleanliness and organization of the nurse’s station, medication room, and cart Assist in orienting new staff members Conduct admission and discharge evaluations as necessary Check equipment for cleanliness and proper functioning Offer guidance and support to nursing assistants Promote positive relationships with residents, visitors, and personnel Perform other related duties as assigned, understanding responsibilities extend to both assisted living and independent residents Note: The tasks listed above encompass the general responsibilities of an LPN. You may be asked to perform additional duties as directed by the Director of Wellness, and refusal to comply may lead to disciplinary actions. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited professional nursing program and current state licensure Experience in the geriatric field is preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to interact courteously with visitors, staff, and residents Capable of lifting and moving up to 60 lbs Strong organizational abilities Ability to work well under pressure Demonstrate good grooming practices and punctuality Possess a warm, friendly demeanor with an empathetic approach towards seniors Adept at assessing residents’ conditions and intervening as necessary CPR certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter Willingness to have pictures taken for social media or community advertising May be recorded by devices installed by families in residents' apartments Addington Place at College Harbor is a senior living campus (AL, IL, SNF) located in beautiful Saint Petersburg, Florida.
