Our vision is for every student, regardless of socio-economic background, to acquire the foundational academic, social and leadership skills to achieve her dreams.Job Description : As part of the ICE: I Can Excel skating team, the Skating Instructor will work under the supervision of the Director of Skating. The Skating Instructor will teach from the Learn to Skate USA curriculum to enable all participants to achieve the skills necessary to either skate for fun the rest of their lives or to move competently into the U.S. Figure Skating testing and/or competitive structure.Duties : Foster positive social and emotional growth in students as they participate in all FSH activitiesHelp create a safe and supportive environment to maximize student engagement during program hoursPlan and execute interactive lesson plans based on knowledge of theory, practical and techniques of skating to introduce, develop and master skills within the Learn to Skate USA testing structureImplement different teaching strategies and exercises to aid in all learning abilities and stylesReport immediately all accidents/incidents and Inform the Director of Skating of any program issues and concerns regarding student progress and behaviorUphold FSH Values and youth development principlesRecord and update attendance and skating skills accordinglyEncourage positive student behavior that promotes character developmentMaintain meaningful positive rapport with students and parentsAttend staff meetings, trainings, and other professional development opportunitiesPerform additional related duties as instructed by skating management team Qualifications : Must be at minimum a Learn to Skate USA compliant instructorAt least 18 years of ageCoaching experience with elementary, middle and high school level studentsMust be energetic, enthusiastic and likes working with young peopleKnowledge in other areas like nutrition, sports injuries, anatomy is a plusAbility to work with other instructors or specialists over the course of the season
