Your Role Become an integral part of our innovative Product Strategy Insights Analytics team. In the position of Lead Healthcare Data Science Analyst, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Manager of Insights, leveraging data to elevate our Product Strategy and Marketing initiatives at Blue Shield of California. Your analytical expertise will significantly influence the development of healthcare solutions aimed at enhancing affordability through advanced data analysis and cost modeling in the healthcare sector. Your Knowledge and Experience A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in healthcare economics, actuarial science, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred. At least 10 years of extensive experience within the healthcare industry. Minimum of 5 years in roles specifically focused on managed care, academic, or government payer settings. Deep understanding of healthcare data and managed health plan operations. Exceptional analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, proficient in a range of data analysis tools. Strong knowledge of statistical methods and advanced modeling techniques including SVM, K-Means, Random Forest, Boosting, Bayesian inference, and natural language processing. Proficiency in essential technical skills such as: Advanced SQL programming, with experience in Netezza or Oracle databases. Data visualization expertise using Tableau. Proficiency in SAS, preferably with Advanced Programmer Certification. Applied statistics and quantitative analysis experience using Python and/or R. Key skills in experiment design and A/B testing methodologies. Outstanding communication and presentation skills, able to simplify complex information for executive leadership and diverse stakeholders. Adept at building partnerships, collaborating effectively, and leading cross-functional teams across varying experience levels.
