As a Business Strategy Architect, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the vision of our Personal Insurance business by defining essential capabilities (Epics/Features) and managing a long-term capabilities roadmap that aligns with our strategic business objectives. You will collaborate closely with business leaders and value stream owners to understand our overarching vision and strategy, providing insights and proposing effective solutions while facilitating the implementation and delivery processes in conjunction with our IT organization. Lead capability prioritization efforts by analyzing opportunity costs, benefits, duration, prerequisites, and dependencies to enable informed decision-making regarding sequencing and investment. Convert strategic objectives into actionable initiatives, maintaining alignment with portfolio goals and preserving flexibility. Develop comprehensive business architectural blueprints that inform the technology roadmap, collaborating with diverse IT teams. Create and maintain business capability models, including current-state and target-state versions, maturity assessments, and gap analyses to aid strategic planning and alignment across portfolios. Develop engaging process maps and visuals to enhance understanding and convey our strategic intent. Document current state processes and articulate future possibilities. Align strategic objectives with operational requirements to drive effective business operations. Foster ongoing relationships with functional leaders to gather and share inputs (goals, challenges, gaps) quarterly with the senior leadership team. Present cohesive models, capability blueprints, and roadmaps to executives and stakeholders to build consensus on proposed capabilities and their business/technology implications. Lead and facilitate capability development initiatives, ensuring alignment across value streams during the early phases of the capability lifecycle. Oversee processes and tools to establish and maintain capability repositories and business architecture perspectives. Qualifications Strong understanding of architectural frameworks, industry concepts, emerging trends, and best practices. Extensive knowledge of the industry and specific lines of business with the ability to analyze strategies and product roadmaps of competitors. Capability to craft and articulate a technology innovation vision and roadmap. Proven ability to build commitment, empower teams, and communicate effectively and timely. Demonstrated eagerness to learn, improve, and advance the Business Architecture discipline by integrating new perspectives, methods, and best practices. Solid understanding of software development processes to effectively interpret team needs, including iterative and incremental development fundamentals. Experience with agile methodologies and frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and XP. Over five years of strategic thinking and relationship management experience. More than 10 years of experience in technology solutions. Strong capability in aligning business, operations, and technology. Dynamic leadership skills to collaborate with cross-functional, high-performance teams. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, expecting in-office work three days a week. All candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company does not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position. Compensation The annualized base pay range for this role is $108,000 - $162,000, reflecting an analysis of similar positions in the market. Actual pay may vary based on performance, proficiency, and demonstration of required competencies. Base pay is just one component of The Hartford's comprehensive compensation package, which may include bonuses, long-term incentives, and other recognitions.
