Job Description Senior Network Development Engineer MUST BE A US CITIZEN About the Role Join Oracle's Global Industries Unit (GIU) as a Senior Network Development Engineer, where you will lead technical initiatives and drive operational excellence across critical network environments. In this pivotal role, you will influence Oracle's high-stakes business sectors, including healthcare, financial services, and the public sector, ensuring security, reliability, and compliance for our commercial and U.S. government customers. Key Responsibilities Provide visionary technical leadership for network incident management, shaping response strategies, leading resolution of high-severity events, and enhancing operational processes. Lead problem management and defect reduction initiatives, establish standards, perform root cause analyses (RCA), and implement enduring preventative solutions. Act as the technical lead during major incidents and post-mortems, working with cross-functional teams to achieve swift remediation and capture learnings for ongoing improvement. Design and implement automation frameworks (Python, Ansible) to boost operational efficiency, minimize manual errors, and facilitate quicker response and recovery. Monitor and report on performance metrics, offering strategic recommendations to enhance network availability and decrease defect rates. Create and maintain essential documentation including incident response runbooks, RCA reports, network diagrams, and compliance evidence. Mentor engineers across GIUs through technical reviews and training sessions, fostering a culture of operational excellence. Ensure operations comply with regulatory frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, HIPAA) and maintain audit readiness. Collaborate with engineering, security, compliance, and product teams to create robust, scalable network solutions that address complex business challenges. Stay updated on industry trends and new technologies, integrating advancements that enhance Oracle's network operations. Technical Qualifications Expertise in enterprise network design, operation, and advanced incident/problem management in complex and regulated environments. Strong command of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, DHCP, DNS) and experience with technologies from leading vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Palo Alto, F5). Extensive knowledge of cloud networking, particularly Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS, alongside automation frameworks using Python and Ansible. Proven ability to lead RCA efforts and implement organization-wide improvement strategies effectively. Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with a knack for influencing technical decisions. Strong technical writing and documentation skills for operational processes and compliance artifacts. Additional Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. 8-12 years of experience in advanced network engineering, incident management, or operational leadership roles. U.S. citizenship required; must undergo an enhanced background check in line with federal regulations. Must be eligible to work in North America and comply with all background and compliance checks. Salary and Benefits Hiring range in USD: $120,100 to $251,600 per annum, with eligibility for bonuses, equity, and compensation deferral.
