As a Senior Telecommunications Design Engineer at Jacobs, you will take on various projects assigned by a Department Manager or Lead Engineer, actively participating in every stage of the design process. Your responsibilities will include: Conducting preliminary assessments Creating design concepts Resolving internal and external issues Producing drawings and specifications Ensuring customer and vendor accessibility Serving as the Engineer of Record (EoR) for designs Providing coverage for project leads Leading projects when bandwidth allows Your role as a Senior Telecommunications Engineer will involve managing multiple projects to ensure timely completion. You will provide technical design leadership for data center systems, including structured cabling, wireless, audio visual, and other low voltage systems. Additionally, you will mentor fellow telecom team members. Key Responsibilities: Leading BIM designers in the preparation of engineering drawings Creating or modifying Division 27 specifications Conducting site visits Reviewing technical documents Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders Signing and sealing telecommunications design packages Identifying processes to improve department efficiency Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering from an ABET accredited college At least 8 years of experience in designing or leading designs for Telecommunications structured cabling systems In-depth knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards Thorough understanding of NFPA 70 as it applies to telecommunications structured cabling Proficiency with Bluebeam software Self-motivated with excellent project management skills Experience responding to RFPs Quality Assurance experience in reviewing telecommunications systems designed by others Experience with start-up and commissioning of telecommunications systems Proven ability to create and maintain project budgets and schedules Proficient in identifying and mitigating company risks PE license required with ability to obtain multiple PE licenses Preferred Qualifications: 4 years of Telecommunications design experience in Data Centers Experience with additional low voltage systems such as Security, Audio/Visual, and Wireless Familiarity with Revit and Navisworks design software Knowledge of telecom infrastructure for control and security systems Understanding of CSI or AIA specification writing methods RCDD credential desirable Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
