Application Engineer

Job Title: Application EngineerJob Description As an Application Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the engineering process from project turnover to implementation. You will engage in detailed analysis of project documentation and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution. Responsibilities Participate in project turnover meetings from sales to engineering, researching and understanding project documentation, including mechanical and electrical drawings, plans, and specifications. Develop and manage schedules for project submittals, identifying required valves, dampers, and other components, and creating engineered schedules for approval and purchase. Create and compile engineering installation documents, including network riser diagrams and functional strategy control drawings, and assemble submittal packages for review and approval. Support field operations by preparing procurement materials and coordinating delivery logistics, maintaining detailed records of RFIs submitted during the project. Engage in professional development by learning functions outside of the application engineer role, participating in project turnover meetings, and attending vendor presentations. Maintain daily logs to track project progress, noting status, completed tasks, and any issues or interference encountered. Comprehend the project scope, hours allotted, and potential change orders, ensuring a thorough understanding of all project details. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Electrical Engineering (BSEE). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, mechanical drawings, and schematics. Proficiency in AutoCAD or Microsoft Visio. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with mechanical equipment such as boilers, chillers, air handlers, VAVs, FCUs, UVs. Understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings and bill of materials. Work Environment The position is primarily office-based, with occasional on-site project research or attendance at project status meetings. The fundamental focus of our design/build, new construction, and retrofitting business is Controls. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Joliet, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.84/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
