Volunteers needed in Hampton to visit hospice patients

Suncrest Hospice is looking for volunteers (18+ years old) in the Hampton, Virginia area to join the Suncrest Team as we provide excellent care and support to our hospice patients and their families in their homes and care facilities. We serve families all over the Hampton Roads. The philosophy of hospice care is to provide comfort and the highest quality of life that one can achieve at the end of life. Through our interdisciplinary team we help patients and families walk through their journey. As a volunteer, you can choose between many opportunities: the gift of companionship, emotional support to the patient and family, respite for the caregiver, listening to or playing music, reading, brining a trained and certified therapy pet for comfort, assist in office/administrative tasks or help facilitate birthday celebrations for our patients. Volunteers are trained in their role with patients. We are required to conduct background checks, TB test, at no charge to volunteers.
