As a Trainee Driver, you will learn the essential responsibilities of the Driver role, including the timely distribution of products to various customer locations. Key Responsibilities as a Trainee Driver: Safely maneuver tractor trailers and secure attached trailers. Operate trucks according to all regulations and company policies to ensure safety. Inspect tractor-trailer equipment pre/post trip and report on conditions. Document deliveries, product temperatures, and any discrepancies. Train alongside an experienced Driver to learn essential driving skills. Maintain accurate driver logs according to DOT regulations. Assist in unloading products at customer locations while ensuring quality service. Handle customer interactions with professionalism, including returns and credits. Complete additional tasks as assigned. Qualifications for Trainee Drivers: High School Diploma or GED is preferred. Must possess a valid Class A CDL. At least 21 years of age is required. Eligibility as per McLane Transfer and Promotion Policy. Willingness to handle all products delivered to customers. Able to read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading. Basic math skills to verify product quantities. Strong communication skills with customers and team members. Capability to safely operate all necessary equipment.
