In this leadership role, you'll set projects up for success by guiding the preconstruction team, partnering with clients and designers, and providing strategic oversight from concept through final pricing.WHAT WOULD YOU DO AS A SENIOR PRECONSTRUCTION MANAGER? Lead and mentor the preconstruction team across multiple projectsOversee estimating, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and risk assessmentPartner with owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners to align scope, cost, and scheduleServe as the primary client contact during preconstructionDrive value analysis and alternative solutions considering cost, schedule, and lifecycle impactsLead project interviews and preconstruction strategy discussionsIdentify project risks early and develop mitigation strategiesContinuously improve preconstruction processes and best practices EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION NEEDED Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field8-15 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or project managementProven experience leading teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES NEEDED Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skillsDeep understanding of construction costs, schedules, and constructabilityAbility to synthesize complex information into clear recommendationsExperience collaborating with internal teams and external partnersProficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office, Ediphi, PlanSwift, Togal.AI, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, and BuildingConnectedDemonstrates integrity, professionalism, and a team-first mindset BENEFITS YOU WILL EXPERIENCE WITH JOURNEY GROUPJourney Group offers competitive pay, annual bonus opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, HSA/FSA options, disability coverage, wellness programs, paid time off, paid holidays, and paid parental leave.
