Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School invites applications for a full-time Assistant Director of the St. Jane de Chantal Salesian Center. Located in Washington, DC, and founded in 1799, Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School educates young women in grades 9 - 12 in a welcoming community rooted in the Roman Catholic faith and Salesian tradition. The mission of the St. Jane de Chantal Salesian Center is to ensure that the Visitation Sisters' gentle, inspired common sense approach to living a faith-filled life continues to endure, flourish, and guide all aspects of a Visitation education into our third century and beyond. The Center is built on four guiding pillars: Faith Formation: The creation of a diverse portfolio of Salesian faith formation offerings to support our community's understanding and embrace of Salesian Spirituality. Leadership and Living Our Faith Through Service: Cultivating and energizing our students and alumnae to be leaders in the Church, the community, and the world through voice, witness, and deed-"Living Jesus" in all that they do. Engagement Beyond the Green Gate: Developing a variety of communication platforms for sharing the inspired writings and teachings of St. Francis de Sales, St. Jane de Chantal, and the Sisters of the Visitation within and beyond our campus. Preserving Our Past: Carefully preserving our archival documents, photographs, and objects that celebrate our 226-year history, and making our rich story and traditions accessible through multimedia. Job Summary: The Assistant Director serves as a member of the St. Jane de Chantal Salesian Center. S/he is responsible for providing administrative and practical support to the Director, supporting spiritual formation through event planning, project coordination, and expense management. S/he is particularly charged with overseeing particular programming for students, alumnae, and parents to help them each engage with and deepen their practice of Salesian Spirituality. Integrates Center's mission and pillars into programs and operations Supports the Director in taking the school's strategic plan and developing an operational blueprint to support the Center's mission of cultivating Salesian Spirituality throughout the Visitation community Collaborates with the communications team to ensure Catholic identity and Salesian Visitation charism is reflected in communications, including print and digital content Serves as a representative to the National Visitation Salesian network; attends fall and spring in-person meetings as well as participates in seasonal virtual meetings Collaborates in facilitating formation for the Visitation community Supports the Director in the development and leadership of Catholic faith and Salesian Spirituality formation programs for faculty, staff, board, Association of Christian Faithful, parents, past parents, and alumnae, in line with the formation framework, and for the broader Visitation community Collaborates with students to infuse Salesian messaging and prayer into the twice a day prayer through our speaker system Works alongside the Director of Alumnae Relations to create a structure of programming for alumnae to engage with Salesian Spirituality Provides administrative and practical support for the activities of the Center Responsible for administrative tasks for faith formation programs for faculty, staff, parents, past parents, and alumnae, in line with the formation framework Supports Salesian Center's work in service to Board Mission & Ministry Committee Supports details of Center's collaboration with campus, local, and national spiritual life communities, e.g., VSN, North American Salesian Network (NASN) Provides general administrative support to the St. Jane de Chantal Salesian Center Supports event planning and project coordination for the Center Supports the Center with the planning of annual Founders Day, Fides Et Scientia speaker series, programming for faculty & staff Coordinates outreach details for parent and alumnae formation programming, e.g., Salesian Friends Group, parents association Spiritual Life Committee Coordinates digital and print mailing materials, e.g. Salesian virtue postcard Manages and maintains database of constituent records Coordinates local engagement with national Visitation/Salesian programs, e.g., Salesian Leadership Camp (SLC), Visitation in Service to Others Through Responsive Youth (VISTORY), chaperones one or both trips each year in June. Directs logistics for participation and formation for faculty & staff pilgrimages Coordinates daily mass and clergy schedules in concert with the Monastery Facilitates implementation of every 5 year VSN Salesian assessment process Manages expenses of the Center in accordance with the budget Coordinates with the business office for payment of invoices, check requests, etc. Other duties as assigned A successful candidate will embrace the creative possibilities for enlivening spiritual life programs within a Catholic high school for young women. This involves developing programming for faculty formation, alumnae reflection, and parent discussion, as well as collaborating with partners on campus and in the broader Visitation Salesian family. An integral member of the faculty and staff, the Assistant Director should enjoy working with an array of campus partners, particularly Campus Ministry, Christian Service, the Monastery, and the Communications Office. Requirements: A practicing Roman Catholic with a demonstrated commitment to growing in his/her faith Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of previous administrative and/or programming experience Preferred experience in a Roman Catholic school or ministry Significant knowledge or sincere interest in the teachings of St. Francis de Sales & St. Jane de Chantal Highly organized, detail-oriented, tech proficient with a proven ability to independently see a project through from inception to completion Values and intentionally strives to model the Sisters' witness to hospitality and inclusion as well as their ministries of prayer and presence Loves a good plan and also is able to gracefully respond to the unanticipated needs of "the present moment" A demonstrated passion for collaborating with a diverse set of stakeholders Deep appreciation for the school's mission, Catholic identity, Salesian Spirituality, and Visitation charism Competencies: Experience in project management and event planning. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel), Google Suite, Adobe, and Canva. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a clear, concise writing style. Facilitation of spiritual reflection among adults. Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders. Ability to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics and confidentiality. Occasional nights and weekends, with some travel required. Physical Requirements: Ability to talk; finger; grasp; sit for extended periods of time; and repetitive motion Possibly lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry or otherwise move objects Ability to move around campus and into several non-ADA compliant buildings Working conditions: this position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions The salary range is $70,000 - $80,000 commensurate with experience.
