Position SummaryThis is a Temporary leave replacement and can be ended at any time. The Training Specialist will research, design, facilitate and evaluate employee learning and development programs to support organizational goals, utilizing a variety of learning models and modalities. The position will provide a full range of in-house training services to Stony Brook University Hospital. Duties of the Training Specialist may include the following but are not limited to: • Execute the migration of Learning Management System (LMS) courses from the legacy HealthStream platform to the new Oracle Fusion Cloud Learning, Development, and Redwood Experience environment. • Conduct detailed reviews of each transferred course to optimize instructional design and ensure maximum learning speed using Oracle Fusion Cloud Learning LMS utilities. • Research and design comprehensive professional development courses that align with SBUH's strategic goals and organizational objectives. • Provide administrative and technical support for the LMS, including data entry, user registration, and session scheduling to ensure seamless program delivery. • Analyze complex data sets to formulate evidence-based recommendations for program objectives and curriculum content. • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing training modules and implement necessary curriculum changes to maintain high educational standards. QualificationsRequired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of experience developing and/or delivering supervisory/management educational programs or, in lieu of a Bachelor's, Associate's degree with at least 5 years of experience developing and/or delivering supervisory/management educational programs. Proficiency in PC applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with e-learning software (such as Captivate, Camtasia, Articulate, etc.) A foundational understanding of how to structure educational content, with a willingness to be trained on specific e-learning tools like Articulate or Camtasia. Must be service-oriented and a strong team player with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically to diverse groups. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's/Master's degree in a related field such as Instructional Technology, Education, or Human Resources. Prior experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or cloud-based HR transitions (e.g., Oracle, Workday, or HealthStream). Experience in training, teaching, or professional presentations within a professional setting. Previous experience in a healthcare environment or coordinating large-scale orientation programs. Anticipated Pay Range: The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $80,000 - $97,000 / year. The above salary range represents SBUH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate's validated years of comparable experience. Any efforts to inflate or misrepresent experience are grounds for disqualification from the application process or termination of employment if hired. Some positions offer annual supplemental pay such as: Location pay for UUP, CSEA & PEF full-time positions ($4000) Your total compensation goes beyond the number in your paycheck.
