Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Associate Philadelphia | New York | Washington, D.C. | Chicago | Pittsburgh | Silicon Valley | San Francisco $225,000-$435,000+ (NY/CA/DC) Direct Counsel is partnering with a globally recognized AmLaw firm seeking a highly qualified midlevel associate to join its premier Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Practice. This is a standout opportunity for an attorney who enjoys working at the intersection of high-stakes corporate transactions and sophisticated compensation strategy-supporting major M&A deals, executive arrangements, and equity-based incentive structures for some of the most prominent companies in the market. Why This Role Stands Out This practice is deeply embedded in complex corporate work, advising on the employee benefits and executive compensation components of headline-making transactions. You'll collaborate closely with elite M&A teams and counsel clients on the most nuanced and evolving compensation issues. Associates in this group gain meaningful exposure to: • Employee benefits and exec comp issues in M&A transactions • Executive employment and separation agreements • Nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements • Equity and incentive compensation plan design • High-level drafting, structuring, and advisory work The Ideal Candidate We're seeking attorneys with: • 3+ years of law firm experience • Strong academic credentials • Significant experience advising on executive compensation/benefits in deals • Expertise in drafting and administering incentive and deferred comp plans • Bar membership in the applicable jurisdiction • A sharp, detail-oriented approach and strong client service mindset Compensation & Benefits For roles based in New York, California, or Washington, D.C., the expected salary range is $225,000-$435,000, commensurate with experience.
