Position Title: Advanced Manufacturing Technology Faculty (12-month)Department: Business/Mathematics/Technologies divisionEmployment type: Full-time Teaching Faculty, exempt Position Purpose: Piedmont Virginia Community College is seeking an innovative and collaborative individual to join the faculty as a 12-month hybrid Instructor/Assistant/Associate Professor of Advanced Manufacturing Technology. The successful candidate will teach a minimum of 15 credits per semester (or equivalent instructional non-credit hours), which may include day, evening and weekend, off-campus, or distance education courses Appointment Date: August 16, 2026. PVCC desires applicants with a commitment to the community college mission; teaching, learning, and student success; integration of learning outcomes assessment into course development and teaching; use of current and emerging technologies to enhance instruction; and other responsibilities that contribute to the progress of the college. Finalists will be invited to present a teaching demonstration. This is a 12-month faculty position at Piedmont Virginia Community College, supporting the college's integrated academic and workforce mission. This faculty position teaches both credit-bearing and when needed non-credit,skills-based courses supporting PVCC's Advanced Manufacturing, Industrial Electronics Technology, and manufacturing programs in workforce development. Duties and Responsibilities: Instruction includes credit coursework and laboratories in industrial electronics and electrical systems; DC/AC circuits; programmable logic controllers (PLC) and industrial automation; microcontrollers and mechatronics; CNC machining and milling; additive manufacturing (3D printing); laser cutting; robotics; and computer-aided design/manufacturing (CAD, SolidWorks, CAD/CAM). The position may also deliver non-credit workforce training through FastForward, open enrollment,andemployer-responsive models, including short-term and accelerated instruction in manufacturing fundamentals, industrial safety, electro-mechanical and industrial maintenance skills, and NC3-aligned Advanced Manufacturing certifications. This position will develop these industry certified pathways from the Advanced Manufacturing Technology programs to non-credit manufacturing (workforce) career pathways. Non-credit instruction will be offered in flexible formats, including in person, online, evenings, weekends, cohort-based delivery, and customized training developed in collaboration with regional employers. KSA's/Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Robotics, or closely related technical field or a combination of education, credentials, and industry experience sufficient to meet requirements. Two years of related occupational experience. Demonstrable technical experience with mechanisms, hydraulics, or pneumatics; automated manufacturing, or materials and processing. Demonstrable technical experience with AC/DC Circuits, Industrial Electronics, Programmable Controllers, Digital Logic and Microcontrollers, or Electronics Communications. Additional Considerations Master's degree in teaching field (Engineering, Electronics, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field to include 18 graduate semester hours). Demonstrated experience working with a diverse student population. Demonstrated experience with course and program development. Experience advising and mentoring students. Experience teaching online. Experience teaching in higher education, especially within a community college. Industry-recognized certifications (i.e., NC3, NCCER) or a willingness to earn certifications.
