Position: Information System Security Officer Location: Springfield, VA Travel: Yes Position Type: Proposal Responsibilities: Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events and incidents across enterprise systems and networks. Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential threats and risks. Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes, including system categorization, System Security Plans (SSPs), and POA&Ms. Perform log analysis, intrusion detection, and incident response using tools such as Splunk, ArcSight, or similar SIEM solutions. Evaluate IT infrastructure, applications, and security controls to ensure compliance with NIST, DoD, and Federal standards. Prepare security documentation and reports, including Security Assessment Reports (SARs) and risk assessments. Collaborate with IT teams, system administrators, and program managers to remediate vulnerabilities and implement best practices. Conduct NIST-based self-assessments, identify weaknesses, and develop mitigation strategies. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) 5+ years of experience in IT security, cybersecurity analysis, or information assurance Hands-on experience with SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and vulnerability scanning tools Strong knowledge of RMF, NIST 800-53, and other Federal security standards Experience documenting and presenting security findings, risks, and recommendations CompTIA Security+ certification (must have or be willing to obtain within 120 days) If you are interested in this position, please send me a copy of your latest resume at with the information requested below: Also, please let me know what time/number is best to call to discuss this great opportunity.
