Engineer Intern | Part-time Temporary

Job Title: Engineering Intern Department: Engineering JOB SUMMARY The purpose of this internship is to learn about Greenville Water's engineering department and to develop skills in the area of new construction and water main replacement projects. Part-Time Temporary. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Read manufacturers product specifications and determine if products are suitable for application and meet contract specifications. Review archived record drawings and GIS for project examples and existing as-built conditions. Review and comment on plans and specifications prepared by internal or external design groups. Coordinate review of plans and specifications by operations personnel. Perform field investigations or planned projects to determine existing conditions and project requirements. Perform simple analysis including pipe velocity, head loss, hydraulic capacity, fire flow, cost estimates, project schedules and standard details. Prepare agendas, take meeting notes and minutes. Take action items from meetings, completes and performs follow-up. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Student who is interested in seeking a bachelor's degree in engineering. Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina driver's license with good driving record.
