Documents interdisciplinary education and plan of care. Participates in interdisciplinary rounds and provides input to ensure appropriate patient care. Assists with bedside bronchoscopy procedures. Performs respiratory therapy treatments and procedures per provider orders, department policy, and recognized standards of care. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:• Critical thinking and patient assessment skills, with the ability to evaluate and modify the plan of care• Ability to ensure infection control• Effective oral and written communication skills, including documentation in the patient care record (EMR), and ability to use and adapt to computer systems and applications• Airway management skills, including insertion and maintenance of a patent airway, and endotracheal intubation as [Required]• Ability to provide optimal respiratory support including administration of oxygen and Heliox, administration of inhaled medications, lung expansion, and bronchial hygiene therapyEducation:• Associate [Required]• Bachelor's [Preferred]Field of Study:• Associate's in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science RequiredWork Experience:• 1+ years as a certified respiratory therapist [Preferred]Additional Information:• Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state in which this position is located.
