Salary: $56.29 - $68.42 Hourly Location : El Cajon, CA Job Type: Full-time Job Number: 26-05 Department: Public Works Operations Opening Date: 02/02/2026 Closing Date: 3/16/2026 12:00 PM Pacific Job Overview The Opportunity: The Public Works Operations Department is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and versatile individual to provide management, oversight, and strategic planning for key department infrastructure programs, with a strong focus on wastewater collection and stormwater operations, as well as streets, recycling, and traffic. The ideal candidate will possess experience overseeing wastewater collection system operations, excellent communication skills, and a strong customer service approach. Possession of a CWEA Collection System Maintenance Grade IV certification and a Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) is highly desirable. The Position: This position plans, directs and coordinates multi-disciplinary division(s) and staff, which includes directing and managing comprehensive maintenance, construction and building projects/programs having a Citywide impact; to prepare and administer division budget(s); to develop division/department policies and procedures; to prepare research and progress reports; to manage staff; to perform related work as required.
