Vice President, Mothers and Families Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago partners with mission-driven people and organizations across Cook and Lake counties to witness a message of mercy and hope to a world in need by improving lives and nourishing spirits; strengthening and empowering people, families, and communities; and committing to being present to our times through the eyes of faith. Job Summary Reporting to the Chief Program Officer, the Vice President of Mothers and Families leads a team charged with empowering mothers as they strive to build a brighter future for themselves and their children, and accompanying families on their journeys toward healing, growth, and well-being. The VP has five to seven direct reports and oversees approximately 200 employees across the Mothers and Families Impact Area. This Impact Area serves more than 50,000 people annually with a total budget of $45MM. It is one of three Impact Areas that CCAC operates and champions through its work, as Charities' leaders implement the Vision 2030 strategic plan. Role Responsibilities LEAD ROBUST PROGRAM PORTFOLIO. Oversee all Mothers and Families programs--including WIC Grocery, Pregnancy and Parenting, Domestic Violence Support, Immigrant Services, and Behavioral Health--to ensure high-quality, efficient services that align with CCAC's mission and purpose. Regularly collaborate with leaders and staff to address client needs. DRIVE INNOVATION AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT. Monitor program results, impact, and performance to encourage ongoing improvement and uphold accountability. Identify emerging program needs, trends, and opportunities. Empower teams to use dashboards and data for making enhancements, managing risks, and delivering excellent service. Analyze metrics, gather feedback, and examine trends to overcome obstacles and recognize achievements. Encourage innovative approaches to improve service quality and accessibility by collaborating with the Client and Community Impact team to develop, test, and implement new programs and services. DEVELOP OVERARCHING PHILOSOPHY AND FRAMEWORK TO GUIDE THIS WORK. Work with Client and Community Impact team and other executive leaders to develop distinct point of view for Catholic Charities regarding the key principles and logic models surrounding effective family strengthening and support and development programs for mothers of children aged 0 to 12. CULTIVATE AND SUSTAIN PARTNERSHIPS. Represent CCAC and the Mothers and Families Impact Area in community forums, coalitions, collaborations, and events. Build and sustain strategic partnerships with government funders, peer organizations, parishes, and community stakeholders to strengthen the social safety net, expand reach, and deepen the impact of services for mothers and families. Position CCAC as a trusted leader in empowering underserved mothers and families. STRENGTHEN AND SUSTAIN EFFECTIVE PROGRAM OPERATIONS. Collaborate across departments to align Mothers and Families with organizational priorities and shared goals. In partnership with Finance, ensure strong fiscal management, forecasting, reporting, and adherence to performance targets. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, professional standards, and funder and regulatory requirements. DEVELOP AND COACH TEAM. Lead and develop the Mothers and Families leadership team through tailored coaching, mentorship, and consistent individual and team performance management. Demonstrate effective people leadership by inspiring team excellence, setting clear goals and expectations, and effectively resolving conflicts. Invest in employees' leadership growth and professional development. Education and Experience Requirements Minimum: 7-10 years of relevant work experience 5+ years' experience leading teams Demonstrated success managing people, budgets, and results Experience building and sustaining partnerships with government agencies, community organizations, and stakeholders Bachelor's degree in related field of study Preferred: 10+ years of relevant work experience Experience leading large teams of 50+ employees Experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets and ensuring financial accountability and compliance Experience overseeing complex program portfolios within social services, family support, behavioral health, immigrant services, or related fields Master's degree in related field of study Physical Requirements X Kneel and move from sitting, bending, kneeling, or standing multiple times a day X Lift up to 25 pounds X Push and pull up to 25 pounds X Climb up and down three (3) or more flights of stairs Other Requirements: X Background check, including any program specific requirements Physical examination Drug Testing TB Testing X Driver's License and reliable transportation Agency-specified automobile insurance Certification/Licensure: Preferred: LCSW Minimum: N/A Essential Functions of the position are detailed below, and include any physical requirements below that. 1.Directly responsible for the overall management of the daily operations for the WIC Food and Nutrition Program; including; Transportation and Logistics, WIC Administration, Operations, Episodic Day Care, Community Affairs and Special Programs, providing administrative supervision, planning, programming and fiscal management. Responsible for hiring, coaching, supervising, evaluating, training and professional development of staff, and for assigning work to staff and ensuring work is completed in an efficient, prompt, professional and accurate manner. Implements departmental policies and procedures. Ensures adequate staffing to meet client needs and volume. 2.Responsible for all aspects of the department's programs including service management, expansion and development, maintaining departmental fiscal integrity, refining, and maintaining program outcomes and overseeing Continuous Quality Improvement procedures. 3.Develops, monitors and directs the WIC Food and Nutrition Program,including; Transportation and Logistics, WIC Administration, Operations, Episodic Day Care, Community Affairs and Special Programs. 4.Serves as a liaison to the Illinois Department of Human Services. 5.Handles client complaints which have escalated to the State level. 6.Collaborates with Agency personnel in submitting proposals as needed to secure financial support from private and government resources. 7.Maintains program compliance with agency regulations as well as applicable accreditation, legal, and practice standards. 8.Maintains statistical data and periodically reviews to ensure quality service provision and enhancements in programming. Ensures monthly and quarterly and annual reports are prepared and delivered on time. 9.Develops, implements and monitors departmental budgets, makes adjustments in order to maintain fiscal integrity. 10.Actively participates in strategic planning and identifies trends and opportunities for program development.
