Your expertise will not only address critical communication and swallowing disorders; it will also serve as a bridge for individuals to express themselves, gain confidence, and connect with those around them. Here, your influence will stretch from the laughter of toddlers experimenting with their first words to the empowering journeys seniors embark on as they regain their independence. This position is an exciting opportunity to engage with a diverse population throughout various age groups in a dynamic environment that intertwines outpatient therapy with the occasional need for inpatient support. Whether your expertise lies with young children developing speech, adults overcoming neurological challenges, or elderly individuals needing assistance with cognitive-linguistic functions, you'll discover both passion and variety in this role. Description Conduct thorough evaluations using standardized assessments and observatory techniques across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics. Craft personalized treatment strategies that target immediate goals and long-term needs related to communication, cognition, or swallowing. Dive into individualized speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication skills, fluency, voice therapy, and swallowing techniques. Work seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to create holistic care plans. Provide vital education to patients and their families, empowering them to contribute to therapy progress at home. Occasionally, assist with inpatient evaluations and speech therapy interventions, ensuring smooth transitions throughout the care journey. Maintain comprehensive and timely documentation compliant with state, federal, and organizational standards. Commit to staying updated on advancements in treatment methodologies through professional education opportunities and peer collaboration. Education An accredited Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Fulfillment of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending. Certifications State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Required: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first 30 days of employment. Skills A strong grasp of evidence-based strategies for treating speech, language, and swallowing disorders across a broad age spectrum. Excellent interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and a diverse healthcare team. Ability to modify therapeutic techniques culturally and linguistically to support individual patient needs. Sound clinical reasoning and the adept ability to resolve complex issues. Proficient in electronic health record systems and documentation practices. Benefits Attractive compensation commensurate with your experience and skills. Flexible work scheduling that supports a healthy work-life balance and varied caseloads. Opportunities to develop expertise in pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatrics. Paid time off (PTO) as well as holiday remuneration. Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Reimbursement for continuing education and robust professional development support. An encouraging, team-oriented atmosphere committed to excellence in patient care and ongoing education. A Career Filled with Purpose and Possibility In this position, your role extends beyond conventional speech therapy; you will become an integral part of a communal mission to revive voices, strengthen connections, and inspire joy through the fundamental acts of communication - hearing and being heard. Surrounded by like-minded professionals who foster a familial atmosphere, you'll thrive in a collaborative environment that prioritizes teamwork over individual competition. Each patient brings a unique narrative; we place our trust in your ability to help narrate their journey eloquently. Discover the Allure of Living and Working in Houston Houston unfolds as a city brimming with innovation, flavor, and cultural momentum, harmonizing the vibrancy of a metropolitan hub with the warmth of Texan charm. This thriving city is not just a backdrop for work - it's a canvas for your life, etched with cultural diversity, artistic exploration, and recreational escapes. Embrace weekends filled with open-air markets, art galleries situated in repurposed warehouses, and a culinary scene that invites you to savor everything from food truck treasures to world-class dining experiences. For outdoor enthusiasts, the nearby parks, hiking trails, and water sports beckon adventure seekers to immerse themselves in nature. If you are passionate, patient-focused, and keen to infuse heart into your practice, we are eager for you to join our team. Let's Craft Meaningful Connections - Together Should you believe that communication transcends mere sound, and that therapy is about forming trusted relationships rather than just completing tasks - if you cherish laughter as much as language - then this could be the pivotal moment in your career.
