Description Administer evaluations to patients spanning the pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups using a mix of standardized assessments and observational techniques. Create tailored treatment plans that effectively address both immediate goals and overarching communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs. Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions targeting communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Engage collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to cultivate seamless care strategies. Provide education for patients and their families to enhance progress beyond clinical sessions. Occasionally assist with inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring continuous care throughout the patient's journey. Keep precise and timely documentation that aligns with state, federal, and organizational standards. Stay abreast of advancements in the discipline through ongoing education and collaboration with peers. Education A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution. A completed supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if certification from ASHA has not yet been attained. Certifications Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment. Skills Expertise in evidence-driven treatment methodologies suitable for all age groups, coupled with a strong foundation in understanding both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to customize therapeutic techniques that accommodate a wide range of cultural and linguistic contexts. Strong clinical judgment along with proficient problem-solving skills.
