Description Assess patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through standardized evaluations and observational methods. Craft individualized treatment strategies that cater to both immediate objectives and overarching communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs. Conduct focused, one-on-one speech therapy sessions tailored to enhance communication skills, language proficiency, fluency, vocal strength, and swallowing mechanisms. Collaborate seamlessly with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to establish a unified care plan. Provide guidance and education to patients and their families to encourage continued progress outside the therapy environment. Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapies, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient care. Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards mandated by state, federal, and organizational protocols. Commit to ongoing professional development by staying informed about advancements in your field through educational opportunities and peer networking. Education A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained. Certifications Current licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be acquired within 30 days of starting employment. Skills Expertise in evidence-based therapies for a wide range of ages, coupled with a solid knowledge of both developmental and acquired disorders relating to speech, language, and swallowing. Strong interpersonal communication skills for engaging with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams. Ability to modify therapeutic approaches to honor diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Exemplary clinical judgment backed by strong problem-solving skills.
