An exciting company has engaged us to find a Senior Wireless Communications Engineer to enable communication across a variety of robots, tasked with executing both learned and user-authored deterministic behaviors. In this role, you'll help architect, deploy, iterate on, and maintain a hybrid, multi-layer mesh spanning distances on the LAN/MAN scale. You'll implement and tune custom routing algorithms in C++/Python, optimize MAC/PHY performance (CSMA/CA, MIMO/diversity, antenna patterns), and drive real-world field demos with hundreds of robots. A bit about the company:Strategic Growth Stage: They recently raised additional funding and are targeting a Series A in the next few months. They have several key roles to hire for immediately, with plans to significantly expand the team after the next funding round. This is a high-growth environment with ample opportunities for career development. Mission-Driven Innovation: They specialize in autonomous systems software, deploying machine learning models for operational field roles across air, ground, and maritime platforms. Their technology is designed to be highly intuitive and "sticky," allowing new users to quickly get up to speed and operate complex systems with minimal training. Impactful Work: The team is already generating revenue from operational and R&D contracts with defense and government customers. Their projects range from field deployments of autonomous systems to advanced robotics integration, positioning employees at the forefront of innovation in autonomous robotics software. Career Opportunities: The company is actively hiring for multiple engineering roles. The team emphasizes shipping production code and real-world deployment over pure R&D, providing hands-on experience and tangible impact in the field. They're looking for someone who:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Software Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years in wireless networking or telecommunications, including mesh networks. Hands-on with Linux network protocols and tools. Proficiency in C/C++ and Python scripting for network services. Deep understanding of 802.11 MAC/PHY, CSMA/CA, and wireless channel behavior. Experience with WiFi chipsets, SDRs, or LoRa modules. Eligibility to obtain and hold a Department of Defense Security Clearance. If this role is of interest to you, please apply for it with your current resume. We will reach out to schedule an initial call.
