Job Description

The Registered Occupational Therapist provides evaluation and treatment for individuals with physical or cognitive impairments that limit their ability to perform daily activities. This role requires compassionate care and a commitment to improving patient outcomes across all age groups, from newborns to geriatrics. Essential Responsibilities Adhere to organizational mission, vision, and values while maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Foster effective communication and professional relationships with patients, families, healthcare team members, and external agencies. Practice within the scope defined by the licensing board and demonstrate proficiency in unit-specific competencies, policies, and procedures. Conduct thorough patient evaluations and develop, implement, review, and maintain individualized care plans. Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic interventions and health management. Complete accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational policies. Provide clinical oversight and guidance to Occupational Therapy Assistants. General Responsibilities Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental goals and patient care excellence. Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not include supervisory or management duties. Minimum Qualifications Education meeting licensure requirements at the time of issuance. Current Occupational Therapy licensure through the appropriate state board. Valid BLS/CPR certification from an approved provider within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation. Driver's license and auto insurance meeting state requirements if driving is necessary for the role. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a similar clinical environment is advantageous. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of Occupational Therapy principles and practices. Effective communication skills with patients and interdisciplinary teams. Basic computer proficiency. Physical Requirements This role involves medium work, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds and frequently up to 10 pounds. Standing or walking may be required 26-50% of the workday.
