Posting Details Position Information Position Title Athletics Volunteer, Beatrice Department Athletics Location Beatrice Job Category Support Staff Job Type PT Posting Number 01766 Position End Date Position Summary Information General Description of Position This posting is a general pool application to volunteer in the athletics department at the SCC Beatrice campus. This position is volunteer and unpaid. Athletic programs at the Beatrice campus include Men's Rodeo, Women's Rodeo, Men's Wrestling, Women's Wrestling, Volleyball, Baseball, Softball, Men's Golf, Women's Golf, Men's Shooting Sports, Women's Shooting Sports, Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, and ESports. For more information on SCC Athletics, visit ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responsibilities vary depending on the sport and specific assignment. The responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Assisting with player recruitment Scouting and viewing films of upcoming games Driving vans to away games Advising student-athletes in their pursuit of athletic goals Teaching basic and complicated skills Working with the media Attendance at both games and practices Development of strength and conditioning for practice season Supervising the gym, or other duties as assigned. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS May be required to perform associated duties, functions, or assignments in other divisions/programs/areas as required. Perform other College functions and duties as assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Ability to lift and carry up to (50) fifty pounds for short distances, and move tables, chairs, and media equipment. Ability to communicate effectively both in writing, in person, and on the phone. The individual must possess the above skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
