Arvato is looking for a Summer Sustainability Intern to support our growing facilities in the Louisville market. The Sustainability Intern will support Arvato USA's Sustainability team by contributing to major environmental initiatives across the Louisville campus, including waste-reduction programs and audit readiness for corporate social responsibility standards. The intern will work directly with operations, warehouse staff, and cross-functional teams to implement waste-segregation improvements, develop communication and training materials, track sustainability metrics, and assist in preparing documentation for a social audit. This role offers hands-on experience in practical sustainability operations, employee engagement, data tracking, and organizational change management. YOUR TASKS Develop an action plan, communication and timeline to implement waste-segregation programs at Arvato sites and support recycling enhancements. Track waste diversion and other metrics to set future goals and KPIs. Support the implementation of a social audit at Arvato warehouses to include documentation collection, policy and evidence gathering and developing an audit readiness checklist. Coordinate across multiple departments to prepare the Arvato sites for audit completion. Support ongoing environmental data collection across the Arvato USA footprint. Engage with warehouse managers and staff to implement sustainability solutions aligned with operations. Build skills in stakeholder engagement, employee training, and change-management communications. Conduct research and benchmarking to support sustainability recommendations and long-term initiatives. Strengthen project-management, organizational, and communication skills. YOUR PROFILE Basic understanding of sustainability concepts. Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Preferred: Students pursuing a degree in Sustainability (Bachelors or Masters), or a related sustainability-oriented field Experience with data collection and analysis. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse teams. Self-motivated; able to work independently with minimal supervision. Comfortable presenting in group settings, including operations and warehouse teams. WE OFFER Experience relevant to your field of study.
