Job Summary The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end supply chain function, encompassing procurement, material planning, inventory management, supplier relationships, and supply chain systems. This role serves as the strategic owner of supply chain processes and technology, including MRP functionality, ensuring materials are available to support production and project timelines while optimizing cost, inventory levels, and operational efficiency. This position leads and develops a team of supply chain professionals and works cross-functionally with Operations/Project Management, Production Planning, Engineering, and Finance to align supply chain capabilities with business objectives. The Supply Chain Manager balances daily execution on the shop floor with the design and implementation of scalable, data-driven systems and continuous improvement initiatives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSupply Chain Strategy & Leadership Own and lead the end-to-end supply chain process from material take-offs and sourcing through inventory management, production readiness, and delivery. Develop and execute supply chain strategies that improve material order accuracy, material availability, reduce lead times, optimize inventory investment, and support on-time project execution. Act as a strategic partner to Operations/Project Management, and Production to align supply chain planning with production schedules, project demands, and financial objectives. Establish and track supply chain KPIs, leveraging data to drive accountability, decision-making, and continuous improvement. Identify supply chain risks and constraints and proactively develop mitigation strategies. Supply Chain Systems, Technology & MRP Ownership Serve as the business owner for supply chain systems, including Flowtrak and future MRP/ERP solutions. Lead the implementation, optimization, and governance of a new MRP processes Partner with IT, Operations, and external vendors on system enhancements, integrations, and upgrades. Translate operational needs into system requirements and standardized workflows. Develop training, documentation, and adoption plans to ensure consistent and effective system use across teams. Use analytics and reporting to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Material Takeoffs & Estimating Support Collaborate with Project Managers and/or Engineering to review project specifications, drawings, and timelines. Lead or oversee detailed material takeoffs for metal, glass, fasteners, and gaskets as required. Support estimating activities by assisting with pricing, supplier bids, and cost analysis. Ensure material requirements are accurately translated into purchase plans and system data. Material Planning, Scheduling & Coordination Work closely with Project Managers and Engineering to: Review material purchase timelines Ensure timely and accurate order placement Resolve material receipt issues or changes Coordinate material receipt, staging, and readiness with the Shop Manager and Logistics Coordinator. Partner with Production Planning and Project Management to align material availability with production schedules. Inventory Management & Control Own inventory accuracy, visibility, and integrity across all materials. Ensure materials, quantities, and locations are accurately maintained in Flowtrak or future MRP systems. Design and maintain inventory control systems that support reliable production and reporting. Lead regular cycle counts and audits; investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Ensure accurate tracking of damaged, defective, or obsolete materials. Publish and review weekly inventory and material status reports for active jobs. Standard Material Replenishment & Cost Management Develop and manage replenishment strategies for standard materials. Approve purchase orders and invoices in alignment with budget and cost targets. Analyze historical and new cost data to secure optimal pricing where standard data does not exist. Generate and review monthly replenishment and inventory performance reports. Collaborate with Finance to support inventory valuation, working capital optimization, and cost forecasting. Supplier & Vendor Management Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships focused on quality, cost, reliability, and lead time. Lead supplier negotiations and performance reviews. Evaluate supplier capacity and risk to support long-term operational needs. Drive supplier improvement initiatives through data-driven collaboration. Team Leadership & Development Lead, coach, and develop a team responsible for receiving, inventory control, material staging, and replenishment. Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations. Build scalable processes that reduce dependency on tribal knowledge and improve cross-training. Foster a culture of accountability, problem solving, and continuous improvement. Identify staffing, skill, and training needs to support growth and increased operational complexity. Continuous Improvement & Process Design Design, document, and standardize supply chain processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Lead root cause analysis for material shortages, excess inventory, and production delays. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, data analysis, and best practices. Ensure supply chain processes evolve to support business growth and increasing project complexity. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred. Minimum 7-10 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or supply chain environment. Experience reading and understanding architectural and construction specifications and bid documents. Experience reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings i.e., dimensions, symbols, types of lines, scales, and views, including elevations, plans and sections. Familiar with basic engineering and architectural principles in various structures (e.g., poured concrete, steel etc.) and with elements and symbols contained in blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve mechanical and software-related issues. In-depth understanding of engineered manufacturing processes and products. Analytical thinker with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with a hands-on presence in the shop. Effective communicator with strong conflict resolution abilities. Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to changing priorities. Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time-management skills. Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling/planning software. Valid driver's license and safe driving record; must maintain insurance per Company Driver Policy.
