Job Description Overview The Field Chief Technology Officer (Field CTO) serves as a vital technical leader who directly engages with enterprise clients to enhance their technological strategies and manage service initiatives. Within Oracle's Customer Success Services (CSS) team, the Field CTO is instrumental in offering strategic advisory and tailored solution designs. Collaborating with clients and internal teams, the Field CTO empowers enterprises to harness CSS's technical proficiency and managed services to tackle intricate business challenges and accelerate their digital transformation journey. This role combines substantial technical acumen with outstanding consulting capabilities, enabling the Field CTO to influence and mold the technical roadmap of enterprise clients while ensuring coherence with the organization's offerings. Responsibilities Client Engagement & Technical Consulting Act as a strategic consultant, facilitating technical discovery sessions to grasp clients' business needs, IT environments, and long-term objectives. Deliver managed services solutions, providing expert recommendations for technology design and optimization. Perform comprehensive assessments and develop customized technology strategies that promote innovation and operational efficiency. Advise on best practices, IT architectures, and modernization initiatives, ensuring alignment with clients' desired business outcomes through managed services. Solution Services Design & Technology Strategy Lead the creation of scalable and resilient service solutions tailored to the specific requirements of enterprise clients utilizing Oracle Cloud (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS). Transform customer challenges into practical technology solutions and/or roadmaps, utilizing CSS's managed services offerings, frameworks, and methodologies. Oversee the technical architecture of complex, multi-phase projects, ensuring they achieve clients' operational goals while adhering to industry standards. Collaborate closely with internal teams (sales, product, and engineering) to enable smooth execution and delivery of client engagements. Sales & Business Development Support Work alongside sales and product teams to assist with pre-sales activities by providing technical insight, contributing to proposals, and showcasing managed services solutions to clients. Participate in detailing Statements of Work (SOW) and lead the creation of technical scopes for client projects. Engage with account teams to identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling by understanding client challenges and proposing additional services and solutions. Become an essential member of client pursuit teams, aiding in closing deals through credible technical consulting and architecture validation. Thought Leadership & Market Influence Serve as a thought leader and subject matter expert in cloud professional services, participating in speaking engagements, webinars, and industry conferences to enhance the company's visibility. Write case studies and articles to showcase successful engagements and share insights on emerging technology trends. Stay updated on emerging technology trends and best practices, while regularly informing internal teams and clients on advancements relevant to their industries. Post-Sales Delivery & Technical Leadership Partner with managed services delivery teams to ensure effective transitions from sales to delivery, overseeing the successful implementation of solutions. Engage with clients post-delivery, offering continual advisory services to enhance adoption (continuous innovation) of the implemented solutions. Establish enduring relationships with clients by consistently delivering value and showcasing a comprehensive understanding of their business and technological requirements. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Experience: 15+ years in technology consulting, solution architecture, or managed services leadership. Demonstrated success in delivering complex technical solutions and implementations in large-scale enterprise environments spanning Procurement, Supply Chain, Human Capital Management, and/or Corporate Finance. Broad experience with cloud platforms, software development, IT infrastructure, and emerging technologies (e.g., AI, machine learning, cybersecurity). Skills: Robust consulting background with the ability to manage several client engagements, deliver substantial value, and develop lasting relationships. Outstanding communication and presentation skills, simplifying complex technical concepts for C-level executives and non-technical audiences. Proficient in developing detailed technical architectures and service solutions that effectively address business challenges. Adept at balancing strategic thinking with practical technical problem-solving. Strong business understanding, recognizing how technology influences business outcomes. Salary and Benefits: The salary range for this role is between $157,000 and $270,800 per year, with potential eligibility for equity and compensation deferral. Commission potential is estimated between 60/40 and 65/35.
