Description Conduct evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods. Formulate individualized treatment strategies that cater to immediate goals while addressing long-term communication, swallowing, or cognitive needs. Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions focusing on various aspects of communication including fluency, voice, and swallowing. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and family members to ensure a unified approach to patient care. Provide education to patients and their families to support their progress beyond therapy sessions. Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapies, ensuring a seamless continuum of care throughout the patient's journey. Maintain thorough and up-to-date documentation meeting all essential regulations and standards. Continue to advance your expertise through ongoing education and collaboration with peers. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is necessary if not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire. Skills Strong grasp of evidence-based practices for treating patients of all ages, along with a deep understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Brilliant interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Capability to tailor therapy methods to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Exemplary clinical judgment paired with robust problem-solving skills.
