LPN-MedSurg-Contract-Kinder, LA

Performs assigned nursing procedures for the comfort and well- being of the patients and any additional duties of functions for which a LPN is allowed by Louisiana state law and the organization's policy and procedures and/or as delegated by the RN. Assists RN with admission, education, discharge planning, and discharge of patient including any necessary documentation. Monitors patient's condition by making frequent rounds on assigned patients, gathering data necessary to administer care, administers appropriate care (including isolation-type environments) and properly and accurately documents such findings. Properly and accurately administers medication(s) as prescribed by Physician/NP after verifying with Physician/NP orders, properly identifying the patient utilizing two identifiers (not the patient's room number), and provides basic nursing care needs to patients (hygiene, comfort, nutrition, etc.)
