COVR Certified Surgical Tech | Gastonia, North Carolina

This opportunity is for an experienced CVOR Surgical Technician to provide specialized support in a busy operating room setting. The role is based onsite in Gastonia, NC, and offers a contract position with a schedule of 12-hour day shifts totaling 36 hours per week. This position requires strong skills in cardiothoracic, vascular, and thoracic surgical cases and is ideal for candidates with at least two years of OR experience or those seeking their first travel assignment in this specialty. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech education program. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; national certification preferred. Minimum two years of recent CVOR experience, including CABG, TAVR, vascular, and thoracic procedures. Skilled in scrubbing orthopedic, cardiothoracic, vascular, general, urology, robotic, gynecological, colorectal, breast, spine, podiatry, and plastic surgery cases. Ability to work with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitoring equipment. Comfortable with rotating holiday shifts and intermittent call-back duties. Strong teamwork skills to collaborate with OR assistants, charge nurses, anesthesia teams, and other surgical staff. Responsibilities: Prepare, assist, and maintain sterile field during a variety of complex surgical procedures. Coordinate surgical equipment and instruments for multiple case types. Support operating room turnover and ensure adherence to infection control protocols. Provide precise patient positioning and assist with specialized surgical tables.
