IT infrastructure services encompass mainframes, servers, service desk, end user computing, disaster recovery and security. Managed network services include the state's wide and local area networks, voice, cable and wiring, and conferencing services. Want to know more about our AWARD-WINNINGAuthority visit: JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and user-centric software solutions across multiple applications and platformsincluding service-oriented and API-driven systems. This role leads and executes comprehensive testing strategies, including API, manual and automated testing, to validate that systems meet defined business requirements, technical standards, and user expectations. The Senior QA Analyst serves as a subject matter expert throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), collaborating closely with developers, Business Analysts and project managers. This role owns the testing phase of development, including API validation, test planning, execution, defect management, and final quality approval prior to User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Responsibilities: Quality Assurance Leadership Serve as a senior project team member across multiple applications, acting as a QA subject matter expert on initiatives of moderate to high complexity. Lead QA efforts for new, enhanced, or purchased systems, ensuring alignment with business requirements and quality standards. Provide guidance and mentoring to junior QA team members, promoting best practices in testing and defect management. Test Planning & Execution Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases, including API, functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing. Design and implement both manual and automated test scripts for UI and API layers based on business and technical requirements. Perform API validation testing, including request/response verification, data integrity, error handling, and boundary conditions. Define test strategies, procedures, and scenarios to ensure thorough quality validation of products and services, including backend services and integrations. Select and effectively utilize testing tools and frameworks with minimal direction, such as Postman and API automation tools, with minimal direction. Defect Management & Reporting Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects related to UI, backend services, and APIs using a defect management system. Communicate quantitative and qualitative test results, risks, and quality metrics to development teams and stakeholders. Validate defect fixes and ensure resolution meets acceptance criteria. Maintain detailed test documentation to support audits, compliance, and knowledge sharing. Collaboration & SDLC Participation Collaborate closely with software developers, Business Analysts, and product owners to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria. Participate in project team meetings across multiple phases of the SDLC, from requirements through deployment and UAT. Support User Acceptance Testing by guiding business users, maintaining defect logs, answering questions, and ensuring readiness for production release. Participate in customer and stakeholder meetings as needed. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, product quality, and overall system efficiency. Research comparable market solutions and apply insights to enhance product quality and testing approaches. Contribute to QA standards, methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support Performs all other duties as assigned. CORE COMPETENCIES: Advanced Quality Assurance Expertise: Proven ability to perform manual and automated testing for complex, enterprise-level web applications. Enterprise Web Application API Testing: Experience validating systems serving both internal and external customers, including RESTful and service-oriented APIs. Automated Testing Proficiency: Strong background in creating, maintaining, and executing automated UI & API test scripts. Manual Regression & API Testing: Expert in validating system stability and functionality through thorough regression testing. Agile Tools & Practices: Hands-on experience using Jira and Confluence within Agile environments. Communication Excellence: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into business-friendly insights. Collaboration & Facilitation: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and facilitate productive discussions. Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex systems, identify root causes, and recommend effective solutions. Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of application architectures and technical components. Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to testing, documentation, and quality validation across UI and API layers. AGENCY SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field, plus five (5) years of experience, including SDET experience, documentation, quality assurance, system integration, and user acceptance testing. OR Nine (9) years of hands-on experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst or Specialist in IT with progressively complex assignments An equivalent combination of education and job-specific experience may be substituted on a year-over-year basis. Note: An equivalent combination of education and job-specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience, and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis. Preferred Qualifications: (Preference will be given to candidates who, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience): • Hands-on experience leveraging Kiro, Chat GPT (AI assisted testing IDE) to accelerate test creation, improve test maintenance, enable self-healing automation, and support intelligent test execution. • Experience with one or more AI-driven test automation and quality engineering tools such as Claude Desktop with MCP is a plus • Mid- to senior-level knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall • Relevant QA or automation certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Selenium) • Experience working within a state government or public sector environment • Four (4) years of experience with Jira and Confluence • Familiarity with Git or other version control systems • Five (5) years of hands-on experience with testing tools such as Selenium, Postman, JUnit, and load testing solutions • Five (5) years experience in API, performance, mobile, cloud, and security testing • Five (5) years experience in performance, mobile, cloud, and security testing COMPENSATION/WORKER TYPE/ADDITIONAL DETAILS:Office Location: 47 Trinity Ave, Atlanta GAWorker Type: Hybrid - (in-office: 2-3 days per week)Target Hiring Salary Range: $70,800 - $85,000 Current Georgia state government employees will be subject to SPB rule provisions.
