Assignment Length: 13 weeks Start Date: April 7, 2026 Shifts: Day shifts, 3x12-hour (07:00-19:30 or 08:00-20:30) Hours per Week: 36 Unit: Pediatric PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) - PACU nurse, perioperative nursing Patient Population: Infants, children, adolescents, and adults Daily Census: 30; Beds: 31 Estimated Weekly Pay: $2180-$2290 Qualifications & Requirements Active California RN license (required) Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required Minimum 2 years recent experience in Pediatric PreOp/PACU and Pediatric Critical Care Prior travel nursing experience within the last 12 months required American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications COVID-19 vaccination and booster required (medical/religious exemptions considered) Ability to float to other facilities or within a 75-mile radius as needed Preferred: CCRN, CPAN, CAPA certifications; prior charge experience; previous teaching hospital experience Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality, compassionate post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients in a busy PACU setting Assess and monitor post-anesthesia status, respond to changes in condition, and manage airways and pain control Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including the Pediatric Heart Center and ancillary services (MRI, Endoscopy, IR) Care for a broad range of surgical patients: ENT, orthopedics, ophthalmology, plastics, vascular, transplants, hematology/oncology, GI, urology, gynecology, general surgery, dental Use specialized equipment such as tracheostomy and home ventilators; familiarity with vein-finding devices preferred Float to other units or facilities as needed and participate in orientation and required training modules This pediatric travel nurse opportunity is ideal for experienced PACU nurses seeking a high-quality pediatric nursing job in San Francisco.
