Job Details Location: Jackson, TN 38301 Position: Hospital Respiratory Therapist (RRT) / Registered Respiratory Therapist Setting: Acute care hospital - respiratory therapy, ventilator management, and pulmonary care Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Respiratory Therapist Start Date: March 23, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour night shifts (3x12 per week) - Night Shift RRT Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Salary: $1460-$1570 On-Site Position Job Requirements / Qualifications Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (NBRC RRT) and current state Respiratory Therapist license Minimum 1 year of recent hospital-based respiratory therapy experience (acute care or critical care experience preferred) BLS and ACLS certifications required Proven experience with mechanical ventilation, ventilator management, and ventilator setup Competence in arterial punctures, ABG analysis, oximetry, and capnography Skilled in pulmonary function testing, suctioning, chest physiotherapy, and aerosol/nebulizer therapies Strong communication, patient education, and documentation skills Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary hospital team Primary Responsibilities Provide intensive respiratory care and safe patient transport in a hospital setting Manage mechanical ventilation and perform ventilator adjustments per protocols and physician orders Evaluate patients, recommend treatment plans, and participate in critical care rounds Administer physician-prescribed treatments using ventilatory equipment, oxygen therapy, aerosol, and nebulizer devices Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, capnography, and pulmonary function studies Assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy, tracheostomy care, and chest tube management Perform arterial punctures, obtain ABGs, conduct EKGs, and recognize basic arrhythmias Set up, operate, and maintain mechanical ventilation and respiratory therapy equipment Document all treatments, patient responses, and maintain accurate therapy charging and data entry Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and team members; perform thorough shift hand-offs Perform other duties as assigned to support high-quality respiratory care Why Apply: This travel respiratory therapist role offers hands-on acute care experience, ventilator and critical care exposure, and an opportunity to join a supportive hospital team in Jackson, Tennessee.
