For the health of our community ... we are proud to announce that we are a tobacco-free campusJob Summary and ResponsibilitiesProvides excellent, quality care in the role of a Cardiac Sonographer and assists with Cardiac ultrasound procedures for patients of Dignity Health Medical Group. Explains procedure to patient and/or family prior to and during examination. Obtains clinical history relevant to examination and consult with referring physician regarding appropriate ultrasonic procedure. Selects proper controls on machine, calibrates machine, and performs Echocardiography examination of diagnostic quality, visualizing and documenting as many cardiac structures as possible. Utilizes ancillary devices (i.e.: cameras, video records, etc.) to obtain permanent record of examination. Keeps equipment in good operating condition, must have the ability to detect instrument malfunctions. Inspects and ensures proper maintenance and makes minor maintenance adjustments or reports the need for major repairs. Selects tracings for Cardiologist interpretation. Tracings will be measured and calculated prior to submission to Cardiologist for interpretation. Maintains department records, including patient charts, files, tapes, etc., as well as departmental statistical information. Notifies Cardiologist of test(s) to be interpreted in a timely manner. Assists in maintaining 24-hour interpretation turnaround time. Job RequirementsMINIMUMHigh School diploma or GEDHigher level degree and completion of an echocardiography program1+ years of experienceRegistered Cardiac Sonographer CCI (RCS)orRegistered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)orRegistered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo (RDCSAE) PREFERRED1 year of experience as an Echocardiology Sonographer
