Job Details - Travel Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Location: Columbia, SC 29204 (Central South Carolina, Richland County) Setting: Acute care hospital - hospital respiratory therapist position Assignment Type: 13-week Travel Contract (Travel RRT) Start Date: March 30, 2026 End Date: June 29, 2026 Shifts: Night shift - 3 x 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) Hours per Week: 36 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Floating: May be required to float between campuses within scope of practice Parking & Perks: Free parking in lots and garages; scrub color: Caribbean Blue Compensation Estimated Weekly Pay: $1320-$1420 Required Qualifications - Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Minimum 2 years of recent RRT experience (first-time travel RRTs accepted) Active South Carolina RRT license required (must be in hand at assignment start) Certifications required: RRT credential, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP Epic charting experience required (experience with Epic electronic health record preferred) Radiation badge required (to be provided by agency) Flu vaccine required (medical or religious exemptions accepted) Ability to float between sister facilities as needed; previous charge experience preferred Core Responsibilities - Respiratory Therapy & Critical Care Provide high-quality respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients in an acute care hospital setting Manage ventilator patients: mechanical ventilation management, ventilator setup, weaning, extubation, and intubation assist Deliver non-invasive support: CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula Perform tracheostomy care and airway management Assist with neonatal and pediatric respiratory support as needed during high-risk deliveries and in pediatric cases Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and basic EKGs; recommend therapeutic interventions Administer aerosolized medications and manage respiratory equipment and oxygen therapy Document all care, assessments, and interventions accurately in Epic to ensure continuity of care Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (nurses, physicians, RT leads) to optimize patient outcomes and staffing Why Apply - Travel Respiratory Therapist Job Benefits Opportunity to work in a high-quality acute care hospital and gain travel RRT experience Competitive travel respiratory therapist assignment with onsite support Free parking and a supportive team environment Valuable Epic charting experience at a major hospital system Advance your career with this night shift Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) travel assignment in Columbia, SC.
