Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)Location: Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver (ACAND)-Brighton, COFLSA Status: ExemptReports To: Director of Student ServicesWork Days: Part-time at 2-days per week (12-15 hours per week)Salary Range: $45 to $54 per hourHiring now for 2026-27 School YearPosition summary: This role involves developing and managing individualized educational program plans, providing therapy in individual and group settings, and collaborating with families, caregivers, and other professionals to support clients' progress. The ideal candidate holds a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology, has or is eligible for Colorado licensure, and preferably holds ASHA certification. We offer a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth in a supportive environment.Essential Functions Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations for speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disordersDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client needsManage Speech only identified student programsProvide direct therapy sessions in individual and group settings, adapting methods to best meet client progressCollaborate with family members, caregivers, and other health professionals to support the overall treatment planMaintain accurate and detailed client records, documenting progress, challenges, and adjustments to treatmentParticipate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and other school or team-related discussions when requiredProvide consultation and training to caregivers, educators, and other relevant stakeholdersComplete all required training and provide documentation as well as official college transcripts within 90 days of hire dateDemonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operationsDemonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English to effectively perform their job responsibilities and communicate in the workplacePerform other duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and DisordersCurrent Colorado state SLP licensure or eligibility for licensureCertificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), preferredPrevious experience in a school setting preferred, with an understanding of classical education values and practices being a plusAbility to work effectively with diverse student populations and collaborate with parents, teachers, and administratorsExcellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skillsKnowledge of state and federal laws related to special education and mental health services Strong ethical standards and professionalismCommitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school environmentCommitment to the policies, mission, and vision of Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools IncCommitment to high moral character necessary to sustain ordered liberty and constitutional self-governmentKnowledge of classical education (or the willingness and desire to learn)Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to effectively articulate information and issuesProven ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment, superior organization, and computer skillsAbility to develop positive and professional relationships with team membersWillingness to complete other related duties as requested Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 15 poundsMust be able to traverse the classroom and adjust one's tone and height by bending or leaning in order to work with each childProlonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, or standingMust be able to supervise outdoor duties Mandatory Background Checks: In alignment with our commitment to student safety, all candidates are required to undergo a comprehensive background check, which includes reviewing criminal records and may require fingerprinting.
