SUMMARY As a Point of Sale Service Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service by ensuring a prompt and effective response to all service requests for POS hardware and related equipment in your assigned territory. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and thoroughly testing various hardware issues, including laser printers, meat scales, wrappers, and network equipment. Accurate inventory maintenance and precise documentation are key aspects of your role. RESPONSIBILITIES In this role, you will: Respond promptly to service requests, keeping customers updated and ensuring detailed documentation of service completions and parts usage. Engage positively with store personnel and the Truno team in clear, understandable communication. Work regular hours and be available for after-hours support as needed. Travel within a 150-mile radius, with limited overnight travel. Troubleshoot, isolate faults, repair, and test in-store equipment for proper functionality. Utilize basic power tools effectively in your daily tasks. Provide preventative maintenance on in-store POS equipment and additional hardware. Perform basic software and hardware configuration, installations, and upgrades as required. Maintain an organized and professional appearance and conduct. Observe strict confidentiality and adhere to company policies. Meet specific deadlines and timelines consistently. Take responsibility for the maintenance of company-provided vehicle, credit card, fuel card, tools, and test equipment. Continuously update your knowledge about all equipment sold and supported in your service territory. Carry out additional duties and responsibilities as necessary. QUALIFICATIONS Ideal candidates for this position should possess the following: Education: An Associate's Degree in Information Technology or a related field is preferred. Experience: A minimum of 1 year in technology service is preferred. Previous retail experience is preferred. Familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office is required. Practical experience with electronics and technology hardware is preferred. Licenses & Certifications: CompTIA A+ Certification is preferred. CompTIA Network+ Certification is preferred. Industry-specific certifications are preferred. Skills & Knowledge (required) Exceptional customer service orientation. Basic Break/Fix skills for computers. Fundamental knowledge of PC operations and software. Strong oral and written communication skills, making technical information accessible to non-technical users. Understanding of Networks and Wireless devices is preferred. Proficient with common hand tools and basic test equipment. Able to work independently and within a team. Capable of multi-tasking and solving problems efficiently. Effective prioritization skills in high-pressure situations. Maintaining confidentiality and integrity at all times.
