Data Tester

Job Summary The Data Tester will be responsible for validating data flows, transformations, and mobile user experiences across cloud data platforms. This role focuses on SQL-based data validation, backend testing, and hands-on mobile offer testing. The tester will work closely with data engineering, QA, and business teams to ensure data accuracy, quality, and proper functionality of customer-facing experiences. Key Responsibilities Validate data flows, transformations, and targeting logic across cloud data systems. Perform SQL-based data conditioning to create and validate test scenarios. Test batch and real-time data pipelines across Data Lake, Data Hub, and MDM environments. Execute mobile offer testing using tools such as Perfecto and validate user experience within mobile applications. Analyze requirements, build test plans/cases, and validate results with detailed documentation. Conduct backend NoSQL validation using Azure Cosmos DB, MongoDB, or similar databases. Perform data quality checks using applicable frameworks and document outcomes clearly. Validate datasets using Databricks SQL and/or PySpark. Record test evidence including screenshots, notes, and detailed defect reporting. Support monthly testing cycles for approximately 10-15 offer validations. Required Qualifications 6-10 years of experience in Software QA, with strong focus on data testing, ETL/ELT validation, or big data QA. Advanced SQL skills for complex querying, data conditioning, and validating large datasets. Experience testing cloud-based data platforms (Data Lake, Data Hub, MDM). Hands-on experience validating batch and real-time data pipelines. Experience with NoSQL databases such as Azure Cosmos DB or MongoDB. Exposure to Databricks (SQL and/or PySpark). Ability to analyze requirements, build test plans, execute test cases, and document results. Strong attention to detail and clear communication of test outcomes and defects. Ability to work collaboratively with data engineering, QA, and business teams. Experience with PEGA Customer Decision Hub (or willingness to learn). Exposure to mobile testing tools such as Perfecto (training available). Preferred Qualifications Python experience for automation or validation tasks. Background in financial services or customer engagement platforms. Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field.
