Candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance as a condition and continuation of employmentHardware Integration & String Test EngineerWork Schedule: 9/80 Location: Onsite Level: Intermediate-Senior (Level 3) Education: Bachelor's degree preferred Overview We are seeking a Hardware Integration & String Test Engineer to support and lead radarsystem testing activities in a dynamic lab environment. This role ensures engineering teams have the hardware, networking, and infrastructure required for effective system development, integration, and testing. The position involves handson setup, test execution, lab maintenance, and collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering groups. Primary Mission Provide hardware, network, and systemintegration support for radar system development and testing by setting up, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex lab test environments. Key Responsibilities Lead and support radar system testing within a lab environment Set up and maintain complete radar string environments, including: Servers Network switches Power systems Cabling (Cat5, Cat6, RF, etc.) Perform hardware activities such as: Racking and stacking equipment Installing and configuring operating systems (Windows/Linux) Hardware configuration and troubleshooting Support lab operations including: Inventory management Equipment tracking and shipment coordination Lab organization and readiness reporting Work closely with IT, Systems Engineering, and Software Engineering teams to ensure environmental readiness Support hardwareintheloop (HWIL) test environments Mentor junior team members on proper cable routing, equipment setup, and system configuration Interface with internal stakeholders and external visitors (e.g., engineering teams, customers, testsite personnel) Provide routine status updates, documentation, and reporting to lab management Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in a fastpaced engineering lab environment Handson experience with: Hardware integration and system setup Server configuration Network switches, routers, and cabling Windows and Linux operating systems Experience with hardware troubleshooting and testenvironment support Experience with inventory logistics and customer interaction Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills Desired Qualifications Experience in defense or government engineering environments Practical networking experience; certifications such as CCNA or Network+ are a plus Familiarity with: Radar systems Powerup sequencing Systemlevel validation Radar string testing HWIL environments Experience operating testlab environments with highreliability or missioncritical hardware Education Bachelor's degree preferred (Engineering, STEM, or related discipline) Work Environment & Culture Highly collaborative team environment Frequent interaction with crossfunctional teams Handson technical work requiring adaptability and problemsolving EEO Employer Apex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
