Summary: Join a dedicated healthcare team as an Advanced Monitor Technician, responsible for continuous cardiac rhythm observation and telemetry monitoring in a specialized stepdown unit. This role is vital in ensuring patient safety through accurate monitoring and timely communication of cardiac events. Key Responsibilities: Monitor cardiac rhythms and telemetry consoles vigilantly. Alert nursing staff promptly to any alarms or rhythm changes. Document and print strip assessments regularly, including on admission, during codes, and as needed. Support patient throughput and contribute to a positive patient experience. Perform additional duties as assigned to support unit operations. Education and Training: High school diploma or equivalent required. EKG certification preferred. Healthcare experience such as Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Medical Technician is advantageous. Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred. Completion of a Dysrhythmia class and passing the associated test within 60 days of employment is required unless exempted by prior certification or experience. Ongoing biannual advanced dysrhythmia testing is mandatory. Experience: Previous experience as a monitor technician is preferred. Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to remain calm and focused during emergency situations. Physical Requirements: Good auditory and speech acuity for effective communication. Visual acuity necessary for patient observation. Capability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods. Potential exposure to blood or infectious materials requiring adherence to safety protocols.
