Description Conduct assessments for a diverse range of age groups, utilizing both standardized evaluations and observational methods. Create tailored treatment strategies that address immediate goals as well as the deeper communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs of your patients. Implement personalized therapy sessions to enhance communication skills in areas such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Engage with cross-disciplinary teams including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to promote effective care strategies. Educate patients and families to reinforce therapeutic progress beyond the walls of your practice. Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions, ensuring seamless care throughout the patient's rehabilitation process. Keep comprehensive and timely documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational requirements. Commit to ongoing professional development, keeping abreast of the latest advancements in the field. Education A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending. Certifications Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. As a preference, holding the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment. Skills Expertise in evidence-based practices across various age groups, with a solid understanding of both developmental and acquired speech and language disorders. Exceptional communication skills for engaging with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Capability to customize therapy approaches to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
